| Customer’s Challenge Vodafone UK has more than 17 million customers and is part of the world’s largest mobile community. Vodafone’s leadership in mobile voice and data communications has continued, thanks largely to its focus on developing customer experience. With a highly mobile workforce of over 9,000 employees in the UK alone they needed to apply a security solution that would cater for their three different worker profiles: Traveller, Office & Executive. Each worker profile uses a different model of laptop and it was imperative that the solution provided a firm fit around the laptop to give maximum protection at all times. Autosafe Solution With the intention of providing the most efficient and cost effective solution, Autosafe customised its existing S15-T laptop car safes to suit all three applications. Each safe was provided with adjustable foam that would allow any of the three laptops being used to fit. The solution was designed around the dimensions of the laptops and allowed the foam to be adjusted between different laptop models as required. The S15-T’s briefcase design meant the laptop would be completely secure at all times and could be easily installed or removed from any vehicle. | Customer’s Challenge Barclays is a major global financial services provider engaged in retail and commercial banking, credit cards, investment banking, wealth management and investment management services, with an extensive international presence in Europe, the Americas, Africa and Asia. In the UK alone it serves over 15 million customers and has over 1,700 branches. Due to the nature of their work, company executives are frequently required to carry sensitive and potentially valuable information. With the risk of loss of any such information presenting a clear security risk Barclays selected Autosafe to provide a solution. Autosafe Solution After evaluating the model of laptop and size of briefcase the executives used, Autosafe selected the S30-F front loading car boot safes for use in each of the executive’s vehicles. The dimensions of the S30-F made it suitable to house the laptop, briefcase, or the two together, and allowed them to be loaded into or removed from the vehicle quickly and conveniently. | Customer’s Challenge British Telecom (BT) is one of the world’s leading providers of communications solutions and services operating in 170 countries. It is also a key player in the global networked IT services market with a strong track record of winning and delivering big, complex contracts for large corporations. To deliver its services it operates thousands of telephone exchanges throughout the UK where engineers are regularly required to work. With each engineer issued with a Panasonic Tough Book, BT required a security solution that would mitigate the risk of opportunistic theft and allow engineers to proceed with their work in an efficient and productive manner. Autosafe Solution After evaluating the security risk posed to its equipment and staff, BT selected Autosafe as its security partner to provide a fixed laptop storage facility with access points that allowed laptops to charge and remain networked while stored. The answer came in the form of the NITEBOX laptop safes, a wall mountable modular design which allows safes to be added or removed as required. Master key technology within each safe ensures maximum flexibility with the highest security. This new level of security assures BT that it has control of its assets and highly confidential data at all times. | Customer’s Challenge Orange operate one of the largest mobile phone networks in the UK and their high performance network coverage provides customers with a signal in over 95% of the UK. At home or abroad, their network offers a wide range of data and voice services, including GPRS, EDGE, 3G, 3G+ and WiFi, meaning customers can work with complete freedom. Maintenance of this network requires a dedicated team of telecommunications engineers to ensure their network operates to maximum capacity at all times. The equipment engineers are required to transport is highly technical and valuable. After the theft of 2 spectrum analysers from their service vehicles, Orange realised some precautionary measures would need to be taken. Their requirements for a security solution involved designing vehicle safe’s that would allow the spectrum analyser to be operable, chargeable and cooled while housed in a vehicle safe that would be easy to install and remove. Autosafe Solution Orange’s challenge required a bespoke solution, something Autosafe have a track record of providing. The safe was designed around the dimensions of the spectrum analysers and was front loading to meet Orange’s easy installation and usability requirements. Cable access to the rear of the safe meant the unit could be charged and powered at all times and an air flow management system was installed to prevent any risk of overheating. | Customer’s Challenge With 3,800 employees and 20 locations across the UK over a suite of subsidiaries and brands, AAH is the country’s leading distributor of pharmaceutical and healthcare products and services to pharmacies, hospitals and doctors. Making over 100,000 deliveries a week and with over 20,000 products stocked, AAH is the largest pharmaceutical wholesaler in the UK. The company aims to be the essential link in the pharmaceutical supply chain, form mutually beneficial partnerships with customers and suppliers and provides a process-driven quality service. Such a level of commitment to the customer requires substantial support and a field team using laptops as part of its everyday working routine. With the security of staff and customer data in mind, AAH approached Autosafe for a practical and effective solution. Autosafe Solution As well as their laptops, staff are also required to carry other items of value and any solution would need to be able to accommodate all valuables at any one time. The easy installation and larger dimensions of the S30-F provided the storage space that staff needed and allowed valuables to be stored or removed in a short period of time. Since fitting the safes AAH Pharmaceuticals have not suffered the loss of any laptops or valuable items, despite having vehicles broken into. The S-30F is very easy to install and remove and can be used in other locations so staff have been advised to use the safes when staying in hotels. The Autosafe is the cornerstone of the company’s mobile device security policy and provides confidence to both customers and staff. | Customer’s Challenge Clearaway Drainage Services are experts in all drainage related problems and deal primarily with commercial, corporate, and local government contracts. Their investment in the latest tools, training, equipment and repair technologies, ensures they can always provide the right solution with minimum disruption, cost and delay. Drain clearance is an asset intensive industry that faces the harsh reality of operating in highly competitive market and dealing with high value facilities and equipment where failure is disruptive and costly. Maintaining optimal availability, reliability and operational safety of plant, equipment, facilities and other assets is therefore essential for Clearaway Drainage’s competitiveness. Their system depends on EAM software requiring engineers to use laptops while working and, in some instances carrying out work while their vehicle is running. This situation presented a security risk and it was apparent that implementing a security solution from the outset would prove to be cost effective in the long run. | Customer’s Challenge Wilcomatic are the UK’s leading vehicle wash supply and maintenance company with more than 1600 installations under contract, and estimate that their equipment washes more than 20 million vehicles a year. Their clients include independent forecourt owners, supermarkets, car manufacturers, emergency services, trains, trams and commercial operations. If a car wash is out of action then a customer is losing income and the operation is set up to ensure that clients lives are made easier by having more than 70 engineers out on the road nationally - average travel time to calls is 43 minutes. Their remote diagnostics allow them to spot faults as they occur, and engineers receive instructions, order parts and close calls electronically, speeding up response times and ensuring a complete virtual paper trail. This system is dependent on EAM software accessed via laptops. With a potential loss of earnings for them and their customers in the event of a theft, it was apparent that implementing a security solution from the outset would prove to be cost effective in the long run. Autosafe Solution With most professional photographers required to use laptops as well as camera equipment to work, Autosafe’s range of vehicle safes provided a good selection for high end users. Customer’s Challenge Working extensively throughout the UK on a variety of photographic projects such as corporate photography for brochures, websites and PR to wedding and portrait photography, Charles needs all of his equipment with him nearly all of the time. With the value of his equipment in excess of £20,000, and having been the victim of car crime in the past Charles approached Autosafe to suggest a suitable solution. Customer's Challenge With different teams of staff working different shifts and the requirement for each patrol vehicle to be equipped with a laptop computer and hand gun, this major European police force required a security solution that would prevent unauthorised or unqualified parties gaining access. With three different teams of staff working in shifts a clear and defined key management system was needed. Autosafe Solution An effective and easy to use key management system was achieved by colour coding three different batches of keys and safes. Each batch was shipped separately and was provided with a keyed alike keying system so that any red key would enable access to any red safe etc. Bespoke foam inserts were fitted into the S15-T to allow the laptop and gun to be securely housed.
